I don't think I've ever been this obsessed with a supermarket cookie, but here we are.
On the morning of the M&S Chocolate & Cornflake Cookie launch, I had absolutely no idea they were being released that day. I'd seen a little commotion online but hadn't really paid much attention to it.
Before work, I popped into M&S just as the store opened at 8am, and to my surprise, there were so many women who'd just dropped their children off at school grabbing packets of cookies in twos and threes.
I paused for a moment, wondering what all the fuss was about. Everyone seemed to be grabbing these cookies, so naturally, I had to investigate.
By the time I made my way over, there were only two packets left!
I grabbed one and left the other for someone else. Hahaha, I couldn't possibly take the last two!
After a long day at work, I finally got home, and it was time to indulge.
And it was at that very moment, on the evening of its launch, that I discovered what I can only describe as the most incredible cookie to ever grace supermarket shelves.
The M&S Chocolate & Cornflake Cookie.
Crunchy, caramel-filled goodness, and paired with a glass of cold milk? Absolutely sensational.
I actually prefer these over the regular milk chocolate cookies. They're not overly sweet or sickly, but have just the perfect amount of sweetness. The caramel has this lovely toasted aroma and flavour, while the dark chocolate balances everything out beautifully.
It's the combination of the crunch, the caramel and the dark chocolate that makes these cookies so irresistible.
I was sold. I was in love. And most importantly, I was obsessed.
So, is the M&S Chocolate & Cornflake Cookie worth the hype? Absolutely. The balance of textures and flavours makes it feel like much more than your average supermarket cookie, and I would happily buy it again.
If you manage to get your hands on a packet, savour every bite. My recommendation? Enjoy them with a lovely cold glass of milk.
And please, don't be greedy! Take a packet or two, but leave some for everyone else to enjoy.
Because something this good deserves to be shared.
